Drive around town and you’re likely to see great big gifts from the Arts Council of Lake Oswego wrapped up in holiday-worthy bows. Is Santa making an early appearance in LO this year? No, but the 15 new rotating sculptures in Lake Oswego’s Gallery Without Walls are and the Lake Oswego Arts Council has heralded their arrival by putting a bow on them and inviting viewers to its annual “Unveil Your Art” celebration on Sunday, August 21, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Millennium Plaza Park.

“This year the Gallery Without Walls Selection Committee has worked especially hard to bring in a diverse collection of art offering a wide range of sculptures that the community can fall in love with and enjoy,” explained Bonnie Cartwright, the Gallery Without Walls Selection Committee Chair. “Traditional bronzes, colorful vibrant abstract works, sculptures that talk about the local environment, and even an interactive sculpture that emits sound, make up some of what you’ll be seeing in this new collection.”

Both walking and shuttle artist-led tours of the new works will begin at 1:15, giving the public an opportunity to learn more about the sculptures from concept to finished product.

This piece blends into the background of the park at 3rd and Evergreen a little better than its predecessor--a Mr. Potato Head doppelganger.
