Not all athletic events require you to grunt, groan, moan and complain. In fact, if you sign up for Lake Oswego’s Howl at the Moon 5k Adventure Run you may find yourself smiling, laughing, and yes, even howling.
With more than 17 obstacles over 3.1 miles of natural terrain, it’s designed to be challenging. But mind you, some of those “obstacles” include a new and improved slip n’ slide that’s big enough for two people to slide down together. Others that may rely more on your strength and agility than your sense of humor include a tire crawl, monkey bars, mud pit, and plank walk.
The spirit of fun continues after the run with a Barn Bash after-party complete with a little foot stomping to Wild West tunes. Vendors include Two Guys and a Grill, Ancestry Brewing and Upstar Nutrition.
Howl at the Moon is set for Friday, July 24 starting at 5:00 p.m. at Luscher Farm, 125 Rosemont Road. The course is open until 8:00 p.m. Early registration is $45 for adults; $25 for youth 10 and older. Register online or by calling the Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation Department at 503.675.2549.
